Houston’s first retirement community

Holly Hall is Houston’s first retirement community, founded by a group of civic-minded Houstonians in 1949. A strong history of community support and philanthropy has allowed Holly Hall to operate since its inception without federal, state or agency funding. A 51-member board of directors governs the operation of Holly Hall, and an on-site administrative team (a facility administrator, director of nursing, food service director, consulting dietician, physical plant supervisor, business manager and ordained minister) has a combined 125 years of experience at Holly Hall alone. Many staff members have served Holly Hall residents for decades.

“Holly Hall is as much
my home as anyplace
I've ever lived.
Everything I need is here…and I can't imagine living anywhere else.”
