Houston’s first retirement community is still the first choice for Houstonians.
Founded by a group of civic-minded Houstonians in 1949, Holly Hall is Houston’s first retirement community and has been continuously upgraded since then.
A strong history of community support and philanthropy has allowed Holly Hall to keep its vibrant legacy of caring and community involvement.
Today, as a nonprofit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), Holly Hall is governed by our 51-member board of directors, and our administrative staff oversees daily operations. Many staff members have served Holly Hall residents for decades, which speaks to our sound management and retention of happy, compassionate and respectful employees who truly love the work they do and take pride in the quality of service they provide.
In March 2012, Holly Hall began to accept Medicare, which allows residents to remain at Holly Hall while they receive prescribed medical care. Holly Hall also now accepts some commercial insurance plans, Medicare Advantage Plans and long-term-care plans, and is proud to work with the University of Texas Medical School and Baylor College of Medicine fellowship programs.
Today, Holly Hall is experiencing a renaissance. We are adding new services and programs, remodeling our interiors and exploring new living options. All these efforts ensure that Holly Hall will appeal to the next generation of retirees for decades to come.
Peace
Holly Hall strives to be in a state of harmony in all of our relationships. We are inspired by service, represented by servant leadership and called to understand and serve others. Holly Hall embodies a peaceful environment that highlights God’s creation.
Excellence
Our culture is characterized by the alignment of goals and plans at all levels of the organization. Holly Hall staff members are dedicated to providing excellent care, understand their responsibilities and are held accountable for their performance. Our culture is one that promotes teamwork for the common good and success of our ministry.
Compassion
Holly Hall is committed to the long-term interests of its stakeholders and to providing quality care that is safe, personalized, comprehensive and collaborative. We are sensitive to the needs of others, which helps us create an environment of empathy, forgiving and helping.
Respect
Our culture is one in which diversity and a variety of points of view are welcomed, respected and celebrated. Holly Hall promotes professionalism and believes that all of our resources—human, financial and material—are precious.
Holly Hall has been home to over 2,000 residents since it opened. Over the years, two residents have lived at Holly Hall for over three decades, several have lived to be well over 100 and now a third generation of families are residents. Since its inception, Holly Hall has stayed true to its quest of “adding years to life and life to years” by concentrating on the health and well-being of the whole person—spiritual, physical and mental.
