2020-2021 Annual Report

This was truly a year like no other.  Our Annual Report and the additional content on this page will give you a glimpse into our lives at Holly Hall during a global pandemic.

We had so much content worthy of highlighting in this year’s Annual Report that we could not contain it all within the pages of the report!  While we weren’t able to have guests in our building to see all of the great activities while they were happening, we want you to see and hear what you missed over the last year.

Leadership from a Distance

Pat Houstoun, 2020-2021 Board President, films a segment for the 2020 Silver Tea in Holly Hall’s historic Chapel.

James P. “Pat” Houstoun, III served as the 72nd President of the Board of Directors and is a third generation Board member at Holly Hall, following in his grandmother’s, father’s, and brother’s footsteps.  In addition, Pat’s great-grandmother and mother both chose to live at Holly Hall in their retirement years.  Pat paid tribute to his family that served before him and provided exceptional leadership to Holly Hall during a year like no other.  Thank you, Pat, for your dedication to Holly Hall.  You have truly left a legacy that will be remembered for years to come.

Socially Safe

Creativity was key in keeping residents safe, entertained, engaged, and active over the year.  Together, we made memories that will last a lifetime while remaining safe.

Instead of going to the annual Greek Festival in Montrose, we brought the Greek Festival to Holly Hall.

A resident artist taught painting classes that showed us just how many creative and talented residents we have!

Embracing Technology

Six new iN2L tablets were purchased through a grant from Texas Health and Human Services to keep up with the demand of video calls with families. Wellness staff worked tirelessly to maintain a full daily schedule of calls and assisted residents to ensure they had a quality visit with loved ones when onsite visitation was not an option.
